The British Columbia Shopping Centre Association will once again be hosting the dinner. We have organized a set menu, which will include wine, platters of antipasto, dinner and dessert selections. Join us for a visit to 2 of the premium Shopping Centres in the  Northwest, The University Village and Bellevue Square.

We will be meeting at Metropolis at Metrotown (location to be determined) to board our chartered bus at 0800am April 22. We will cross the border and arrive at The University Village for a tour followed by a joint luncheon with the Northwest Shopping Centre Association. Topics to be discussed include, attracting and retaining staff from local markets and overseas and marketing strategies (Specific topics will be confirmed and updated next week).

A buffet lunch will be served and you will have a chance to visit with our NSCA neighbors during the luncheon and presentations.

The bus will then leave at 2pm for a visit at Bellevue Square. We will leave at 4pm for the trip home. We will be stopping for pizza/food to be eaten on the bus for the trip back.

Refreshments will be provided on the bus. 

The plan is to return to Metropolis by 7pm.

Superintendent Lemcke from the Vancouver Police Department will share his findings on how our city can learn from successes in New York and the positive outcomes it has brought the city.

SUPERINTENDENT WARREN LEMCKE

In September 2007 Inspector Lemcke was promoted to the rank of Superintendent and is currently assigned to Operations North Division where he leads all uniform functions and community responses in the south region of Vancouver.

He was previously assigned as the Inspector in charge of Patrol District One and assignments prior to that were as Inspector in charge of the Beat Enforcement Team and Inspector in charge of VPD Facilities Sedction.

He has worked in all four districts as a patrol Constable and Sergeant. He spent several years as a Traffic Enforcement Constable and walked the Granville Beat.

Superintendent Lemcke is designated as a Public Order Commander, receiving training in this field in the UK. He has a certificate in Administrative Management and numerous other courses. He is one of the only few Canadian police officers to complete the NYPD Internal Investigators course.
